The heritage building that houses Hawthorn Mosman has taken on a number a number of personalities throughout its life, its newest reincarnation a certain timeless charm. Hawthorn Mosman is making it its business to become a local speak-easy, inviting residents and visitors to dine in historic style in the centre of Mosman’s shopping district.

The modern Australian menu begins with breakfast, offering all the breakfast staples like eggs, hotcakes and sweet corn fritters as well as melt-in-your-mouth fresh scones with house made jam and clotted cream. The lunch and dinner menu introduces a number of small share plates like grilled chorizo with basil and lemon and grilled haloumi with extra virgin olive oil and oregano, perfect for a nibble with a cocktail or glass of wine, over 20 served by the glass from the list of 65.

Savoury sandwiches are served until 3pm, and a must-try entrée is the tempura ricotta filled zucchini flowers with a basil pesto. Moving onto mains, Hawthorn Mosman offers something for every taste including meat, fish, pasta and vegetarian choices. A reduced set menu is offered for groups of 13+ with the option of 2 or 3-courses, served with sides and coffee.

The relaxed restaurant setting shows off a creative coastal-chic design with white washed floors and fresh white décor in the main restaurant. Tables and booths are available for traditional dining as well as cushy chairs and comfy couches in the lounge for a more casual style meal. Groups up to 12 can enjoy an al fresco afternoon tea on the front terrace, and parties up to 14 can enjoy the views from the bay window seat. Groups up to 24 can book a space in the main restaurant and for larger parties, Hawthorn Mosman can be exclusively hired for up to 48 diners or 74 for a cocktail soiree.
