The Merrier Men
Director - Chris Dair
Co Founder – More the Merrier
Drawn to the entertainment world, Chris Dair started his career in 2003 as a cabaret dancer and social director cruising the Pacific Islands with the Tahitian Princess Cruise ships. Continuing to combine his love of travel and dance (and channeling his inner disco god!), Chris toured throughout Australasia in 2005 as part of the hit musical Saturday Night Fever.
Following the Hong Kong season, the lure of London’s West End saw Dair trade the tropics for the UK where he worked as an in-demand commercial dancer alongside high profile performers like Kelly Osbourne, also adding his flair to fashion tours in the UK and Europe.
Chris left London for new adventures in Sydney in 2008, where he was one of the original ensemble members for the Australasian tour of the acclaimed Chicago the musical, and working both on and off stage. With his creative flair and natural exuberance, Chris was made responsible for wrap and cast parties for various productions, and it was at this time that the seed for a new business opportunity was sown. “I realised there was a real gap in the social event market, and generally a lack of information available to people when look for dining and entertainment locations for groups,” says Dair. It was from this moment that More the Merrier was born.
Ideas Man – Zae Greenwood
Co Founder – More the Merrier
Travel lust and ambition saw Zae Greenwood leave Australia at 19 to explore Europe for a year, where he settled in the Greek Islands living a teenage dream teaching scuba diving. After his European adventure, Greenwood based himself in London for the next decade where he worked for the prestigious Savoy Group, now renamed The Maybourne Hotel Group consisting of Claridges, The Berkeley and The Connaught. His natural flair and attention to detail saw Greenwood become and in-demand wedding planner staging lavish society weddings, as well as being responsible for royal and corporate events and out of the box product launches. Some of the standout events Greenwood managed include Lady Carmarthen's Birthday (that the Queen and Duke attended) and regular private dinners for Lord and Lady De Rothschild.
Building a reputation for creativity, Zae moved from events into the PR division of The Maybourne Hotel Group where he was mentored by Paula Fitzherbert the companies renowned PR Director. Working as Paula’s right hand man, Greenwood helped execute some of London’s most memorable PR events including the fragrance launch of Vera Wang by Vera Wang in 2002, MAC’s launch of the gladioli-inspired colour collection in collaboration with Dame Edna Everage in 2008 and Christian Louboutin’s Prêt-a-Porter cakes for his AW08 collection, as well the launch of the Girls Night In package, The Berkeley Spa and the relaunch of The Connaught Hotel.
Returning to Sydney after 10 years experience with The Maybourne Hotel Group, Greenwood was keen to start a business of his own. A meeting with his long time friend Chris Dair provided him with the opportunity he was looking for, and the pair are now business partners developing Dair’s brainchild More the Merrier.
